Intended Audience: This program is designed for adults.  This class is especially intended for landowners wishing to start or improve a small native garden.

Program Description: With careful planning, you can create a small, aesthetically pleasing native garden that has great value for wildlife. Anne Cooper and Carrie Resnick of Nature’s Haven Nursery will provide their top tips for native garden planning that maximize diversity and host plants.  

In this class, you’ll: 

• learn how to select the right plants for your small space and which plants to avoid. 
• learn how to use structural arrangement to your advantage. 
• learn how to manage native plants in a small space. 
• begin to develop a short list of plants suitable to your space. 
• hear pros and cons of using cultivars of native plants in your garden. 

About the Instructors: Anne Cooper and Carrie Resnick are the owners and founders of Nature’s Haven Nursery, which specializes in cultivating native plants. Their mission is to make native plants accessible while educating others about the vital role of these plants in our ecosystems. Bringing together their backgrounds in design, organic gardening, and permaculture, they offer garden consultations and planning to help homeowners create beautiful, ecologically rich home landscapes.

What to Expect: This is an indoor workshop with presentation, discussion, and Q&A.

Where to Meet: Registered participants should meet at the Rowe Visitor Center Auditorium at our Rowe Woods location

Cost: Ticket fees include daily admission.
