Program Description: Whether you’re just getting started with using native plants in your home landscape or you’re an old pro looking to glean new ideas, this talk by local naturalist Carol Mundy is for you. Using real world stories from her family’s native plant nursery and the work they’ve done in the variety of tiny habitats in their half-acre suburban yard, Carol will highlight:

  • The benefits of starting small and how they’ve managed their yard to be teaming with more than 180 native plant species
  • How to find a balance between native and non-native plants
  • The importance of considering urban factors (what’s around your yard)
  • How she’s learned to not fret about overly manicuring the landscape but instead embracing the wild spirit of plants and the wildlife that use them
  • Where to learn more
