Program Description: Arriba! Abajo! Al centro! Pa' dentro! Experience Mexican dishes reimagined with locally foraged mushrooms, wild greens, and native fruits to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Enjoy a festive atmosphere filled with music, stories, and community as we raise a glass to nature’s bounty and the spirit of Cinco de Mayo! This program will consist of a roughly 1-mile hike on our trails to explore the basics of foraging and see what is growing around us. After this, we'll head to the Krippendorf Lodge to enjoy food and drink made from some of our finds. 

What to Expect:

• We will likely be sitting or standing for periods of time, as well as walking.
• This program is mostly outdoors.  
• Restrooms are available throughout the program.  
• Trails/areas used during this program are rated as accessible (packed gravel trails, mild hills) for a planned distance of .5-1 mile at a slow pace.
• Program runs rain or shine.

What to Wear: Dress for the weather and to be outdoors the entire time.

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Will this event be held outdoors?  

• This event will be held outdoors. The hiking portion will be held on our trails, and the food portion will take place on an outdoor terrace under a covered tent. Please dress for the weather—this includes bringing extra layers for warmth, wearing appropriate footwear for walking, and wearing a raincoat if needed.

Can I bring my dog?

• No. Service animals only, please.   

What age range is the event appropriate for?  

• This event is only acceptable for ages 21+ since there will be alcohol served.  

Is the trail difficult?  

• No, but there will be some gradual inclines along the trail. The hike will cover about 1 mile of our trails. It will not be strenuous, but it is best to check in with our staff before registering if you are concerned about physical constraints. Will there be parking at this event? 

• Yes. Parking for this event will be at the Krippendorf Lodge.  

Will there be bathrooms on site? 

• Yes. There are restrooms in the Krippendorf Lodge. Note that there are no restrooms along the trails.
