Registration Requirements: Preregistration required.

Intended Audience: This program is designed for adults and children ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Program Description: Help us tap the trees as we start the sugaring season. Head out into the sugarbush with a maple guide to learn the ins and outs of tree identification and tapping, all while drilling holes, setting taps, and hanging sap buckets. We’ll have hot cocoa and a fire to warm up. This is a great experience but also serves as a how-to instructional class for those wishing to tap trees at home.

What to Expect:

  • This program is entirely outdoors.
  • Restrooms are available only at the start and end of the program, as we will be out on the trails during the program.
  • Trails/areas used during this program are rated as moderate (some elevation changes, trails may be uneven or could be slippery when wet) for a planned distance of 1 mile at a moderate pace.
  • Program runs rain or shine.

What to Wear: Please dress in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort.

Where to Meet: Registered participants will meet at the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location. (4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, OH 45150)
Look for the “Sap Hikes Start Here” sign.
