Registration Requirements: Preregistration required.

Intended Audience: This program is designed for adults and children ages 10 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Program Description: Have you always wanted to make syrup from the maple trees in your yard? This hands-on how-to workshop will be filled with “sweet” advice for those wishing to make syrup. Selection of trees, tapping, sap collection, sap storage and boiling will be addressed, as well as finishing and canning syrup on a small scale.

What to Expect: This is a hands-on class with a combination of indoor and outdoor time—please dress for cold weather and wet/snowy conditions.

  • Restrooms are available only at the start and end of the program, as we will be out on the trails during the program.  
  • Trails/areas used during this program are rated as accessible (packed gravel trails, mild hills) for a planned distance of 0-.25 miles at a moderate pace.
  • Program runs rain or shine.

What to Wear: Please dress in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort. 

Where to Meet: Registered participants will meet in the auditorium inside the Visitor Center at our Rowe Woods location. (4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, OH 45150)

Cost: Ticket fees include daily admission.
