Registration Requirements: Preregistration required.
Intended Audience: This program is designed for adults. Interested youth ages 12 and up may participate with an adult caregiver. Being able to sit quietly and listen is essential.
Program Description: First you will hear them, then you will see their flight against the darkening sky. Woodcocks are a secretive game bird and the best part of the “mud season.” Join us to learn about woodcocks as we take a walk to the fields at Long Branch Farm & Trails.
What to Expect: Expect to be here for slightly over an hour to learn about these fascinating birds. There will be periods of quiet standing (or sitting if you bring a chair) while we wait for the action to begin.
What to Bring: Consider bringing an outdoor folding chair to sit on for our watch. No flashlights please.
What to Wear: Please dress for the weather as this program will take place entirely outside. It will be muddy; wear old clothes and boots.
Note: Please arrive promptly for the walk’s start time. Gatehouse only remains open for 15 minutes after program start time.
Where to Meet: Registered participants will meet at the Creekside Barn at our Long Branch Farm & Trails location. (6926 Gaynor Rd, Goshen, OH 45122)
Cost: Ticket fees include daily admission.
