GROWING CONSERVATION GUARDIANS: Cultivating Curiosity & Nurturing the Next Generation in Nature

At the heart of Cincinnati Nature Center’s mission is to inspire young people to discover and connect with nature.  Our nature-based learning programs nurture a deep-rooted affinity for the natural world. But it’s not just about nurturing an interest in nature. There is a robust body of evidence that illustrates how consistent, repetitive time in nature leads children on the path toward success. Nature-based learning cultivates their curiosity and positively impacts them across various domains—social, psychological, and physical—enhancing their intellect, emotional resilience, and physical well-being. Our premier Nature Preschool and CincyNature Camp programs foster rich developmental benefits and serve as fertile ground for children’s creativity and problem-solving skills by encouraging imaginative play and cooperative interactions.

Over the years we have had a lasting impact on many families. Now the word is out, and we cannot meet the demand. We have waiting lists for both Preschool and Camp every year.

Currently, our preschool program is a renovated activity building that can only accommodate one class of 16 children at a time. Meanwhile, our single camp pavilion seriously limits the number of campers we can safely and comfortably serve.

 To better serve our community, we must advance and expand. With a new 6,000 square foot preschool, and significant improvements in camp facilities, more children will be inspired to embark on a journey of discovery, immersed in the wonders of nature.

OUR NATURE PRESCHOOL WILL TRIPLE ITS ENROLLMENT:

• Three classrooms
• Parent reception area
• Teacher offices
• Cincinnati Nature Center’s signature outdoor exploration area

ENHANCED CAMP AREA WILL ACCOMMODATE MORE CAMPERS:

• Two new pavilions
• New restroom facility
• Renovated retreat house and activity building
• New access road and parking for quicker and easier pick up and drop off
