Black Walnut Hunting at Long Branch Farm & Trails

Celebrate our native black walnut by helping us gather and process this year’s crop. We’ll head out on the land to hunt for black walnuts and bring them back to the barn, where you can help husk them with our equipment. We’ll crack and taste some cured black walnuts from last year’s crop, touch on black walnut trees’ importance for wildlife, and provide suggestions for culinary applications (and samples!) of this often-ignored gourmet nut that’s right underneath our feet.
