Intended Audience: This night hike experience is best suited to families with children ages 5 and up with an adult.

Program Description: The darkness isn’t scary once you understand it. Discover how nocturnal animals have other ways to “see” at night besides eyesight…and how you can, too. Through a series of fun nature at night trail activities, we’ll help you unlock your senses of hearing, smell, touch, and even taste to allow you to experience nature in a new way.

Note for caregivers of children: This program is conceived as an antifear experience to help children (and perhaps their adults, too) feel at home in nature in all conditions as they cultivate their love of nature. With experience, participants get to know how nighttime can provide a new, peaceful way to connect with nature.

What to Expect: We’ll traverse rough/uneven trails in the dark. For more information, please see how to prepare for a night hike.

• Trails/areas used during this program are rated as moderate (some elevation changes, off-trail, trails may be uneven or could be slippery when wet) for a planned distance of 1/2 to 1 mile total at a slow pace.
• Restrooms are available at the start and end of the program. Restrooms are not available on the trails.
• This program is entirely outdoors.
• Program runs rain or shine.

What to Bring: Bring a flashlight.

What to Wear: Please dress in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort. 

Where to Meet: Registered participants will meet at the PlayScape Parking Lot at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd., Milford, OH 45150).

Cost: Ticket fees include daily admission.
