Program Description: On this hiking tour of the Long Branch property, we’ll use stories to peel back layers of history to reveal how former residents of this property had local, national, and even international influence, ranging from the first land surveys in the area to the space race. By touring some of the trails and the exterior of two historic houses (circa 1830 and 1850), we’ll discern past residents’ fingerprints on the land and uncover why Long Branch still bears an agricultural “feel.”

What to Expect: This is a docent-led hike experience blending history, natural history, and agricultural history. We'll reveal the site's history through stories, artifacts, and activity. Trails/areas used during this program are rated as moderate (some elevation changes; trails may be uneven or could be slippery when wet) for a planned distance of 2+ miles at a moderate pace.

• Restrooms are available at the start and end of the program. Restrooms are not available on the trails.
• This program is mostly outdoors with indoor options available in the case of severe weather. 
• Pets are not permitted at Cincinnati Nature Center programs or events.
• Program runs rain or shine.

What to Bring: Water bottle. Bring your own snacks if desired.

What to Wear: Hiking shoes or gym shoes are recommended. Please dress in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort.
