Intended Audience: This program is designed for adult landowners who have challenging areas in their native gardens.

Program Description: Does your yard have a lot of shade, soggy wet areas, or dry slopes? Join Denice Robertson of Pollinator Plants & Design as we reveal how to design beautiful habitats using native plants that are well-adapted to those tough locations. 

About the Program Guide: Denice Robertson has a PhD in Ecology and is faculty at Northern Kentucky University. She is involved in research on prairie restoration, specifically on increasing the success of milkweed. In addition, Denice owns Pollinator Plant Design, which is a garden design company focused on creating gardens using native plants that enhance the natural habitat and provide food, shelter, and host plants for pollinators. She has experience dealing with poor drainage, creating a pollinator paradise in a shady yard, and working with areas that contain multiple conditions. She focuses on creating a habitat that works with existing conditions, as there are many native plants to enrich any area regardless of the amount of light or water.

What to Expect: This is an indoor workshop with a presentation, discussion, and Q&A.

• Restrooms are available throughout the program.
• This program is completely indoors but takes place on the lower level of the Rowe Visitor Center, which is accessed via two flights of stairs.
• Pets are not permitted at Cincinnati Nature Center programs or events.
• Program runs rain or shine.

Cost: Ticket fees include admission.
