Registration Requirements: Preregistration required.

Intended Audience: This program is designed for children ages 3 and up, accompanied by an adult caregiver. Children must ve accompanied by an adult. 

Program Description: Spiders, bats, and bones, oh my! Don your costumes and bring a flashlight for this non-spooky woodland Halloween adventure. This event will feature nature crafts, activities, and festive treats. Meet some of our famous, Cincinnati Nature Center Animal Ambassadors and stroll the trails as the sun sets on the autumn forest.

All children at this event will receive a goodie bag upon checking in. Along the event trail, they will receive several pieces of candy and a couple prizes to put in their goodie bag.

What to Expect:  

  • Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center and PlayScape. 
  • This event will traverse about a half-mile of easy trail with minimal hills or elevation changes for a planned distance of less than 1 mile at your own pace. This trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
  • Restrooms are available throughout the program.
  • Pets are not permitted at Cincinnati Nature Center programs or events.
  • This program is entirely outdoors.
  • Program runs rain or shine.

What to Bring: Bring a flashlight or headlamp. 

What to Wear: Dress for the weather and to be outdoors the entire time. Costumes are encouraged!

Where to Meet: Registered participants will meet in the lobby of the Visitor Center at our Rowe Woods location. (4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, OH 45150)

Cost: All sales are final. Refunds are not issued unless Cincinnati Nature Center must cancel the event due to inclement weather or other reasons. Ticket fees include daily admission prior to the event, however, for your safety, all grounds outside of the event site will be closed beginning at 7 pm.

 

Frequently Asked Questions: 

Will children get candy at this event? 
There will be some candy and sweet treats at this event, but it is not a full trick-or-treat experience. All children will receive a goodie bag upon checking in. Along the trail, they will receive several pieces of candy and a couple prizes to put in their goodie bag. Please help us keep our trails clean by being mindful of your group’s trash and crumbs! 

Will this event take place outdoors?
Yes. Upon arriving, guests will check in at the Rowe Visitor Center. There will be some activities inside the Visitor Center, but the rest of the activities will take place along the trails. Festivities will take place rain or shine. Please make sure you and your little ones are bundled up and prepared for the weather. 

Will it be dark during this program?  
Yes. The sun sets around 6:30 pm at this time of year. We will do our best to illuminate the trails to create a “not scary” vibe, but participants are encouraged to bring flashlights or headlamps to light the way. Just keep them out of your friend’s eyes, please! 

Can I get a refund?
All sales are final. Refunds are not issued unless Cincinnati Nature Center must cancel the event due to inclement weather or other reasons. You are welcome to give your ticket(s) to someone else in the event that you are no longer able to make it. To do so, share your receipt with the QR code with the new ticket-holder so they can show it at Registration for admission in your place.

What ages is the event appropriate for? 
This event is geared towards younger children and their adult caregivers. While your older children are welcome to come, please note that it is best suited for younger children. 
 
Is the trail difficult? 
No. This event will traverse less than one mile of trail. The path will consist of relatively flat, even terrain. It is stroller and wheelchair accessible.  

Can I bring my dog? 
No. Service animals only, please.  

Do I have to purchase a ticket? 
Yes. Registration is required. 

Will there be parking at this event? 
Yes. There is plenty of parking available near the event location.  

Can I explore other areas of the Nature Center outside of where the program will take place? 
Cincinnati Nature Center grounds close to the public at 7 pm in October. Nighttime Trail Fest ticketholders will have access to the event trail through the duration of the event, but for your safety, all grounds outside of the event site will be closed beginning at 7 pm. If you would like to explore other parts of our property, we encourage you to come back during regular business hours. 

Will there be bathrooms on site? 
Yes. The bathrooms at the Visitor Center and the PlayScape Pavilion will both be open. 


Check your email for registration information regarding this transaction. SAVE A TREE, please retain your order number or save an electronic copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt. You may be asked for your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program. Visitor Services associates can also verify your etickets from the order number or by name.
